School District No. 27 buses

Sacred Heart Catholic School pays the cost of $360.00 per year per student to School District No. 27 for bus transportation, and we generally follow the School District No. 27 school calendar. Prior to your child traveling on the school bus, please call the bus garage at 250-398-3881 to arrange bussing for your child.
After you speak with them, you MUST contact our school promptly to let us know your child’s bus number, driver name, morning arrival time at Sacred Heart, and after-school departure time from Marie Sharpe Elementary School. We need this information to ensure safe adult supervision of your child(ren) to and from the bus stop.

Volunteer drivers

In volunteering to transport students, drivers must follow Sacred Heart School regulations:

  • Parents are responsible for insuring their vehicle within the laws and regulations of the Province and vehicles must be rated appropriately and insured with third-party liability insurance. It is recommended that you meet with your insurance advisor and review the usage of your vehicle for personal and business use to ensure you have proper coverage.
  • All parents who provide transportation for field trips, etc. are required to complete a Volunteer Driver Form. In addition, volunteer drivers are required to submit a Criminal Records Check Form. These forms are available at the school office and must be completed and dropped off at the police station, for clearance.
  • Sacred Heart School also requires the following documentation from our volunteer drivers:
    • A copy of insurance and licence
    • A driver’s abstract

The abstract can be obtained by going to the Motor Vehicle Office or by calling 1-800-663-3051 and having it faxed directly to the school at 250-398-7725.

Sacred Heart Catholic School does not accept responsibility for any damage to the vehicle in the event of an accident, nor for deductible, loss of insurance discount, or lose of use.

Also:

No child shall be seated in front of an airbag.

Effective July 1, 2008, new ICBC regulations will require that child passengers are appropriately secured according to their age and development.
