Dress Code

Students are required to wear the proper uniform in the school, unless informed otherwise by the school. Parents have the responsibility to ensure that their child comes to school dressed in the proper uniform as described below.

Zellers in Williams Lake is now carrying Arrow brand navy and white golf shirts and Arrow brand navy pants. If you pick up five shirts and two pairs of pants and take them to the customer service counter, they will give you a discount if you tell them you are from Sacred Heart School.

Note: Please put your child’s name on all clothing.

Girls

Note: These optional items of clothing must be worn over a shirt with a collar.

Additional Information

  • No logo or design on any clothing except the SHCS crest or logo.
  • School logo is optional.
  • No capri pants, overalls, or short alls.
  • All shirts must have a collar. T-shirts are not acceptable.
  • No jeans, sweatpants, leggings, or track pants. (Corduroy dress pants are acceptable.)
  • Velcro shoes for both inside and outside use are recommended for Kindergarten students.
  • Enforcement of the dress code policy will be the responsibility of the principal.
  • All students must have non-marking running shoes for gym (as “inside shoes”) and left at the school.

Gym strip

Each teacher will send a note home in September to advise you of any gym strip requirements.

Enforcement

The following procedure will be implemented if a student is out of uniform:

  1. First time: the school will contact the parent.
  2. Second time: the principal will contact the parent and a letter will be sent home.

  3. Third & future times: the parent is phoned to bring in the proper uniform or pick up their child by noon.
